Million Paws Walk 2012

4 Apr

On Sunday May 20th I will be participating in the Million Paws Walk to raise money for orphaned and abandoned animals in RSPCA shelters around the country.

44,000 animals are placed in shelters each year just in New South Wales. Events like this raises vital funds to help look after these animals and give them a new lease on life and hopefully a forever home.

The walk is attended by more than 60,000 people and 20,000 pets and provides a real festival atmosphere with live entertainment, a variety of food and drink stalls, demonstrations and exhibitions, as well as a huge range of pet care products and accessories to buy.

To sponsor my walk, please visit my fundraising page and place a donation. All proceeds will go to the RSPCA.

Anything to support these beautiful creatures is better than nothing at all, so dig deep!

Boom of panda cubs in China

7 Oct

The giant panda breeding centre in Chengdu, China have welcomed 12 new panda cubs into the program.

The centre started with just six pandas in 1987 and now have more than 100.

Asia haven’t always had the best coverage when it comes to the animal world –  with Japan overfishing and slaughtering dolphins and whales and China skinning mammals alive for their fur. So it is nice to see the people who are dedicating their life to animals in the area.
